If you have tight muscles with knots, deep tissue might be the answer.

Deep tissue massage is designed to get down deep into the muscle and fascia also known as connective tissue. Deep tissue uses the same movement as swedish massage but there is noticably more pressure. The idea is to get down deep into the muscle to break up any knots and to release any chronic muscle tension (also known as adhesions.)

Will deep tissue hurt?

It shouldn't hurt but will feel more uncomfortable then swedish massage. You must tell your therapist if you're having any pain so she can adjust to a lighter presure
